Avalon Media System: A Collaboratively Developed Video and Audio Content Management and Delivery Solution

The Avalon Media System Project is a three-year IMLS-funded, multi-institutional effort to develop an open-source system that will enable libraries and archives to easily curate, distribute, and provide controlled online access to their video and audio collections in support of teaching, learning, and research. Led by Indiana University and Northwestern University, Avalon is being developed in collaboration with numerous other institutions. Pilot projects began at partner institutions across the country in January 2013. In this session, learn more about Avalon Version 1.0 pilot projects and find out how your institution can become involved.
