Facebook in the Composition Classroom

Tuesday, February 05 | 11:00AM–1:00PM | Plaza Exhibit
Session Type: Professional Development

While Facebook's tools are somewhat limited in comparison to other web-based class resources, its ubiquity makes Facebook an invaluable pedagogical tool for a composition-centered classroom. Some of the distinct advantages of using it exclusively or as a supplement to other university-provided tools will be outlined in a presentation based on data from a semester-long freshmen composition course that integrated Facebook functions into course pedagogies and objectives.

Learning Objectives:
* Enhance discussion skills
* Improve writing skills
* Engage more enthusiastically in course assignments and in course as a whole
