One Size Does Not Fit All: Multiple Video Streaming Solutions at Pomona College
Jason Smith, Instructional Technologist, Pomona College
Is it possible to deploy a single video streaming solution to meet all your instructional needs? While searching for such a solution, Pomona College found it difficult to identify any legitimate multipurpose solutions. Furthermore, it was highly problematic to even propose a "one size fits all" streaming video solution. Instead, Pomona College made the decision to deploy multiple video delivery solutions to effectively address the academic need for video in the curriculum. Come learn how Pomona came to this crucial decision through a study of video as media, its use in the curriculum, and future trends.

Ripple Effect: How a Year-Long iPad Training Program Has Facilitated Faculty Innovation
Mark Jones, Supervisor of Technology Training, University of Central Oklahoma
While the potential benefits of the iPad for teaching and learning are just beginning to be realized, the flexibility of this technology has made training faculty to integrate the iPad into instruction and other faculty work particularly challenging. This session will present the iPad Academy, an intense year-long professional development program that was strategically designed to equip, inspire, enable, and assist faculty in innovatively and collaboratively discovering iPad best practices both in and out of the classroom. Attendees will receive planning, implementation, and evaluation strategies as well as document samples for managing an iPad Academy.
