The MediaKron Project at Boston College: Creating Interactive Course Content

In this session, participants will learn about MediaKron, Boston College's emerging web-based application developed to meet faculty members' need to easily organize digital instructional materials and create a dynamic interactive learning environment. Through an interactive exploration of the application, participants will learn how to use MediaKron to build customized sites using a variety of features-including maps and timelines-to organize, present, and juxtapose images, video, audio, and text in flexible and innovative ways. They will also learn how to get involved in Boston College's community of learners around the use of MediaKron for digital scholarship.

Learning Objectives:
* Learn about MediaKron, an emerging web-based technology developed to meet BC faculty members' need to easily organize digital instructional materials and create a dynamic interactive learning environment
* Learn how to use MediaKron to build customized sites using tools including maps and timelines to organize, present, and juxtapose images, video, audio, and text in flexible and dynamic ways
* Learn about the MediaKron Project, which enables the tool to become accessible and self-sustainable through a community of learners
* Learn how BC and partner institutions have employed MediaKron and how to get involved in the community of learners
