The Next-Gen Educator: Exploring Apps for Teaching and Learning

Monday, February 04 | 3:15PM–5:30PM | Plaza Exhibit
Session Type: Professional Development

iPads and other tablet and mobile devices are hot topics in education. How do you create a community to foster innovative approaches in teaching and learning without sacrificing quality and integrity of content? With iPads as an emerging technology, instructors pondered, "If I had 30 iPads in my class, what would I do with them? How would I use them to help my students learn better? How could they help me teach better?" In this session, we will explore and engage these topics by using an interactive website designed to align apps with learning outcomes.

Learning Objectives:
* Identify apps to higher-order versus lower-order thinking skills
* Align apps to critical thinking skills and learning outcomes to enhance academic content comprehension
* Review and rate apps
