Transforming Learning and Study Spaces at a Research University

Tuesday, February 10 | 11:00AM–11:45AM | California Pavilion Promenade, Second Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
This session will present the planning and implementation of active learning spaces and study spaces at the University of Kentucky. Often space planning is the responsibility of campus facilities staff, which can result in learning spaces being created without input from campus community members who understand pedagogical requirements of faculty and the impact the classroom will have on student learning. To ensure learning and study spaces were created with learning as the primary goal, the university established a team to plan and implement appropriate spaces. The result is a holistic plan to create relevant spaces to enhance learning outcomes.
