Innovative Approaches to Integrative Learning: A Tale of Two Projects
Explore innovative approaches to integrative learning in this discussion about UT Austin's Ethics Integration Initiative and the Online Competencies Curriculum (OCC), developed by a consortium of four liberal arts colleges. UT's project offers video-based ethics resources for incorporation across disciplines, in both online and traditional classrooms. The OCC project is creating a repository of online modules that help students develop and improve competencies in information fluency, technological adaptability, and communication. Both Teagle-funded projects provide flexible online educational resources and support the transferability of knowledge and skills that students can use in the classroom and beyond.

Adaptive Learning in a Residential Liberal Arts Context
Adaptive learning platforms that allow instructors to author their own adaptivity are now becoming available. This ability to customize both the content and the adaptivity gives instructors the flexibility to begin exploring how adaptive learning tools can contribute to and complement a highly interactive face-to-face environment. Several faculty at Grinnell College, a residential liberal arts college with heavy emphasis on in-person faculty and student interaction, have started building adaptive learning modules with Smart Sparrow. This session will report on their efforts and lessons learned.
