Tuesday, February 02, 2016 | 3:15PM–4:00PM | Texas Ballroom Foyer, Fourth Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
This presentation will address some of the challenges associated with integrating third-party tools and publishers' content, a commonplace LMS practice facilitated by the IMS Learning Tools Interoperability protocol. Consequently, the direct integration between the LMS and the publisher's content shifted user expectations of the LMS, revealing the need to identify new methods for users to navigate the course content hosted by the two distinct platforms. These findings outline simple and effective methods that faculty and designers can employ to improve the content navigation and LMS integration of publisher content, thus improving students' overall learning outcomes and user experience.

OUTCOMES: Identify challenges associated with LMS integration of publisher content, including user authentication limitations across platforms * Explore types of third-party tools and content available for LMS integration * Define design methods to simplify navigation across LMS and publisher/third-party learning platforms
