How Do We Share Open Course Content Between Institutions?

On Demand
Session Type: Virtual
Delivery Format: On-Demand

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) have sparked the creation of digital-learning materials; nearly 500,000 videos, problems, and pages in edX alone. These assets have been reused on a limited basis within institutions, but how might we best facilitate the sharing of these resources broadly between institutions? We will discuss one early case and identify issues from policy to technology. The result will be a plan to share digital learning assets and establish a collaboration economy.

Outcomes:

Participants will: * Review the current MOOC landscape and opportunities related to content sharing; * Engage on a complex project aimed at reshaping how we view open online content; * Contribute ideas to a broader movement around digital-learning content sharing.
