ELI Annual Meeting Cancellation FAQ

Why the cancellation?

We have been constantly monitoring the situation, which has been continually evolving. Based on member feedback, the timing of our event relative to the emerging health situation, and the likely degradation of the conference experience had we gone forward, we have decided to cancel the event. We are sorry for the inconvenience this cancellation causes our members and attendees.

Will I get my money back?

As we mentioned in our message to attendees, we will be issuing full registration fee refunds.

We’ve worked closely with the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, and they have agreed to refund cancellation fees and charges for cancelled/unused room nights. You must call the hotel at 425-462-1234 (do not cancel online).

We are unable to provide refunds for travel expenses. In terms of air travel, many airlines are now offering flight waivers and accommodations for specific travel dates and destinations. Please work directly with your airline. We have drafted documentation to support refund requests if needed. If we can support refund requests in any other way, please contact [email protected].

Additional Travel Cancellation Tips:

Jim Burnett ([email protected]) is available to answer any questions from conference sponsors.

I’ve already arrived in Seattle.  Now what?

Staff are available on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency Bellevue to provide assistance and help in any way we can. Alternatively, please contact [email protected] for assistance. Members may also contact the Louisville office, where the membership team is available to assist at 303-449-4430.

Will EDUCAUSE hold an online event in place of the ELI Annual Meeting?

We are looking into alternative options to deliver programming that had been scheduled to take place at the ELI Annual Meeting.

Is EDUCAUSE planning to cancel other face-to-face events like NERCOMP or the Security Professionals Conference?

The decision to cancel ELI was unique to emerging events local to the Bellevue area at this time. We will continue to monitor events throughout the United States and internationally. The status of other EDUCAUSE events is currently unchanged.
