Join us for an exploration of the technology supporting accessibility in the classroom. Throughout the day on Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have demonstrations of available technology, opportunities for hands-on experience, and time to discuss the implications with your peers.

Assistive Tech Students Can Access Independently 
Tuesday, March 3 | 11:15 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Evergreen Ballroom, First Floor
Join us for a demonstration of assistive technology supportive of students in their coursework. These technologies will include Ease of Access in Windows 10, Immersive Reader, and resources such as PPT Designer and Ideas in Word and Excel.

Assistive Tech in the Classroom: ADA Compliancy with Voice Control
Tuesday, March 3 | 1:15–2:30 p.m. | Evergreen Ballroom, First Floor
This session will open with a brief presentation on the importance of voice control and the impact it will have on ADA compliancy in the classroom. We will then shift focus to a live demo of the Alexa Classroom Voice Control Skill, which operates through Extron or Crestron processors and Alexa for Business to enable voice control of virtually all classroom technology. At the conclusion of the demo, time will be set aside for Q&A, discussion, and the opportunity for you to try the skill out for yourself. A few systems will be set up for this purpose.

How to Create Accessible Classrooms from an Instructor's Point of View

Learn about Microsoft tools designed to help faculty make their courses more accessible, including accessibility checker, accessible templates, Office Lens, and team resources for accessible collaboration.
