HyFlex courses connect online learners with traditional classroom-based learners in a single class and allow students to choose the participation mode for each class session. The term HyFlex combines "hybrid" (both online and face-to-face teaching and learning activities) and "flexible" (students choose whether or not to attend face-to-face sessions with no attendant "learning deficit"). HyFlex courses help students manage their time, but they also provide several other advantages over exclusively online or classroom-based delivery modes. This session will report on four years of experience delivering graduate education with the HyFlex approach.
