The iDEAL Makeover: A University-Wide Transition to Blended Courses

Wednesday, September 15, 2010 | 5:05PM–5:25PM
Session Type: Professional Development

As an emergent university built on a rich heritage and commitment to innovation, Brandman University, part of the Chapman University system, had a unique opportunity to redesign its course delivery method at its 25 distributed campuses. In the fall of 2010 all courses will be offered in our iDEAL (instructional design for engaged adult learners) model of teaching and learning in a blended format, one night a week in the classroom with online engagement throughout the week. This session will outline our strategy for redesigning over 200 courses, training 65 full-time faculty members and 1,200 adjunct faculty from San Diego to Seattle on the iDEAL teaching and learning model, and navigating the Blackboard course site.
