This presentation will describe the system that Ball State University is using to encourage faculty members to use evidence in their program and curriculum change decisions. Starting from the premise that learning is our goal, the faculty is using curriculum alignment and embedded assessment strategies to measure when learning is happening. Positive results are highly motivating. By starting with clear measurable outcomes, faculty can use assessment data to make curriculum decisions. By making it part of everyday assessment strategies, the process is streamlined, which ultimately makes it easier to incorporate into institution-wide accreditation processes as well.
