Using Evidence to Inform Continuous Improvement in Online Course Design

Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, peer review process that was developed under a federal grant (FIPSE) in the early 2000s as a practical system to assist faculty improve the quality of their own online courses. The QM process is guided by the QM Rubric that was developed from existing research and best practices of online learning. As early as 2005, QM supported efforts for research on effectiveness of the QM process. This session will present and analyze the budding QM-focused research and suggest next steps.
