A Blended Journey in Faculty Development

Wednesday, April 02 | 2:45PM–3:00PM
Session Type: Professional Development

Hear the story of our blended journey at CSU Channel Islands. The Blended Learning Preparation Program (BLPP) is designed to guide faculty through a process of reconceptualizing their teaching practice. Through this program, faculty move from a traditional teaching approach to a learner-focused approach by examining new methods and tools. Faculty members work in cohorts to discuss changes to higher education and how they impact the learner. They learn how to integrate technology and a blended approach to course design into their teaching. This presentation will describe the BLPP and outcomes from our first three cohorts.

Outcomes: Learn about the structure and organization of the BLPP * Learn about the approach we have taken to supporting faculty redesigning learning experiences for their students * Understand the importance of excitement and engagement when building momentum in faculty development
