Thursday, April 03, 2014 | 1:45PM–2:00PM
Session Type: Professional Development

The Academy for Teaching Excellence is led by a cross-functional team of faculty and administrators who have combined their faculty development efforts to address the needs of full-time and adjunct faculty. This session will present how nominal group technique was employed to identify six areas of need that drive academy programming. The design, implementation, and evaluation of one such program, the New Adjunct Online Course, will be shared to demonstrate the strengths of the cross-functional approach.

Outcomes: Discuss the advantages of a cross-functional approach to faculty development * Apply a form of nominal group technique to identify broad faculty development needs * Evaluate whether elements of Harper College's New Adjunct Online Course may be transferable to your institution
