Mobile Essentials for Faculty

Wednesday, April 02 | 3:00PM–3:15PM
Session Type: Professional Development

This session will introduce you to UCFs mobile learning professional development course. The course was derived from the results of the 2012 Mobile/E-Textbook Survey, which indicated that while the majority of students had access to devices and were using them for academic purposes, there was mixed belief in their ability to enhance understanding of the course content. The course is self-paced and modular, which meets the needs of many instructors. The course includes an overview of mobile learning with definitions, common barriers to integrating mobile technology into content, pedagogical consideration, and practical examples of mobile integration.

Outcomes: Briefly review the results of the 2012 survey and their relevance to the development of the mobile course * Learn about the structure of the mobile course * Evaluate your setting for possible mobile integration opportunities
