The Quality Transformation Faculty Development Assessment Framework

Wednesday, April 02 | 1:15PM–1:40PM
Session Type: Professional Development

The Quality Transformation Faculty Development Assessment Framework was authored recently for inclusion in an upcoming book on quality in distance learning. This model includes a scaled framework to assess the varying impact levels of a faculty development program. Various dimensions include understanding the characteristics of the faculty audience, defining desired skills and competencies, identifying strategies to measure change in teaching behaviors and achievement of student learning outcomes, and aligning the faculty development program's assessment activities with institutional mission and goals. This framework may be instituted and adapted to the local faculty development institutional context.

Outcomes: Review the framework * Discuss the framework's relevance and potential impact on the quality of faculty development * Discuss the potential implementation of the framework and identify any barriers to its implementation
