Practical Learning Analytics: Putting Data to Use in Support of Teaching and Learning
The landscape for learning analytics at the University of Michigan has changed dramatically over the past three years. In this session, I will tell the story of this transformation, from an initial notion that data could be better used to the reality of collecting, sharing, and acting on campus data in many new ways. I will focus on the challenges we faced in making these changes and how we used the strengths of our institution to work through them.
Participants will explore learning analytics and who they're for, learn about the major elements of Michigan's learning analytics transformation, anticipate some of the leadership and innovation challenges similar advances might face on their campuses, and prepare for how to overcome these challenges.
