Using Process Mapping to Redesign the University for Students

Monday, September 25 | 3:40PM–4:10PM ET
Session Type: Virtual
Schools and universities are complex systems, and it is easy for students, educators, and administrators to get lost in and tired out from myriad procedures and routine tasks. There has to be a better way. Come learn how a group of 11 universities is applying a simple technique that yields big results. By creating visual workflow diagrams, universities are redesigning the college experience, and supporting processes, to work in favor of students, particularly underrepresented students. Join us to learn the basics of process mapping and create an action plan to drive change at your school or campus.

Outcomes:
  • Develop an understanding of process mapping and its application to higher ed

  • Understand how techniques like process mapping can help surface and solve bottlenecks and obstacles students face on campus

  • Identify a specific process or function on your campus that could benefit from the process-mapping approach
