We will look at the progress of emerging technologies such as adaptive learning and learning analytics on impacting higher education. How are today’s digital innovations impacting the roles of students and faculty? What promise do they hold, and what are their challenges? And, finally, how can research help sort hype from impact?

Outcomes: Articulate the impact of digital learning on higher ed faculty roles * Understand the impact of innovative technologies on the future of teaching and learning in higher ed * Be able to engage leaders in the importance of digital learning evaluation to discern what the research indicates regarding the impact of new digital technologies
