Getting Started with AWS Educate:: Amazon's New Grants-Based Cloud Initiative for Education
Join Malcolm Brown, EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative director, and Veronica Diaz, ELI associate director, as they moderate this webinar with Ken Eisner. With the increasing demand for individuals entering the workforce with cloud computing experience, AWS Educate provides an academic gateway for the next generation of IT and cloud professionals. AWS Educate is Amazon's global initiative to provide students and educators with the resources needed to greatly accelerate cloud-related learning endeavors and help power the entrepreneurs, workforce, and researchers of tomorrow. AWS Educate provides four pillars of resources - at no cost to educational institutions, educators or students. These pillars include: AWS credits for free access to AWS technology; content provided by AWS and by top educators around the globe to help educators build new courses or inject into existing ones; training materials to help educators and students build competency on AWS; and collaboration tools to share best practices and connect the community. This webinar will provide you with an overview of this brand new global grant-driven initiative, including: background on why we launched the program; a description of the program; its value proposition to educational institutions, educators, and students; and a demo of the AWS Educate resources.
