Today's learners have diverse abilities and backgrounds, including students with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, differing cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and varied preferences and motivations for learning. As faculty, you are responsible for ensuring that you provide learning opportunities that ensure student success. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) assists in meeting the challenge of diversity by providing flexible instructional materials, techniques, and strategies for designing instruction and institutional policies and practices more broadly.
