Fear Factor and American Idol: Leveraging Popular Culture for Student Support

A central tenet of technology at Simmons College is to help community members learn to care for their computers. One successful strategy has been to run interactive educational programs that draw on popular culture, such as "Technology Fear Factor" (based on TV's Fear Factor) and "Simmons Idol" (based on TV's American Idol), to engage students.
