Using Virtual Research Environments to Design and Implement the Scholar's Portal at NYU

Tuesday, March 09, 2010 | 3:00PM–3:50PM | Room 552 A
Session Type: Professional Development
Virtual research environments (VREs) are designed to help scholars manage tasks needed for successful research. Largely discipline based, these online environments aim to provide scholars with tools and resources necessary for each step in the research cycle. NYU is developing a cross-disciplinary, university-wide Scholar's Portal (SP) to facilitate research and teaching by creating the infrastructure to supply tools, repository services, and research content to scholars, online. Two members of the NYU Scholar's Portal team will describe what VREs are and discuss how they are informing the development of NYU's Scholar's Portal.
