How We Went Google! Moving Faculty, Staff, and Students to Google Apps at Brown

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 | 12:30PM–1:20PM | Room 553
Session Type: Professional Development
Brown University decided to go Google in early 2010 as recommended by our e-mail assessment team. From that point forward we aggressively attacked the project to move faculty, staff, and graduate and medical students to Google (undergrads were already on Google). This presentation will review the project highlights, including how we addressed governance and university support; how we technically managed the conversion, training, and third-party vendor relationship; how we are addressing support for Google Apps, e-mail infrastructure changes, and support for FERPA; and lessons learned.

  • Geoff Greene
