Teaching and Learning with Low-Cost, Low-Barrier Technologies: How Web 2.0 Is Improving Education

This presentation will outline the process, results, and unintended consequences that KSC students and two professors experienced when they decided to move from Blackboard to a selection of Web 2.0 applications. The facilitators and participants in this interactive session will discuss how teaching with Web 2.0 technologies provides more cohesion to the learning experience; address how teaching in the open benefits teaching practice; share examples of courses that are using Web 2.0 technologies; and explore the challenges and successes for faculty, students, and support staff.
