Crafting Professional Development That Faculty Clamor For

Wednesday, April 01 | 12:30PM–1:20PM | Room 554
Session Type: Professional Development
Want to offer professional development that inspires faculty and leaves them begging for more? Similar to students in higher education, faculty have different learning preferences and need active learning incorporated into professional development. Learn how Quinnipiac University's Course Design Institute garnered excitement from faculty with a collaborative environment that encouraged discussion among disciplines, diverse instruction that addressed different needs, and active learning techniques aligned with content. Participants are expected to participate in multimodal activities akin to those used in our institute. The session will conclude with discussion about techniques participants are using in their own professional development.

OUTCOMES: Create professional development that incorporates active learning aimed at diverse learning styles * Create a learning space where faculty feel comfortable discussing problems and solutions * Assemble a list of best practices in professional development
