Creating a Student Life Feed through Digital Signage at UNH

Wednesday, April 01, 2015 | 2:50PM–3:40PM | West Prefunction Area
Session Type: Professional Development
The campus of UNH began to look like a veritable Times Square—sign, sign everywhere a sign—with flat-screen TVs being mounted everywhere. The presenters will share their story of creating a student life feed and unifying UNH's signs. The project created a new communication platform where student organizations, faculty, staff, and local business owners can upload signage content through a submission web page and also integrated emergency alerts and UNH social media feeds. The UNH community responded with a collective yes!

OUTCOMES: Market and build advocacy for a campus-wide digital sign unification project * Use existing infrastructure to collect and distribute content inexpensively * Engage student leaders in the concept * Create a new communication medium that supports rich media
