Strengthening the partnership between IT and institutional leadership necessary for project success can be achieved through a simple tool, the business case. Business case development has many benefits, including assuring a project's value, effort, and total cost of ownership are understood up front, but it can strengthen business owner and IT relationships, as well as create an appropriate space for institutional leadership to enter the conversation. In this presentation, we will walk through the benefits of having and developing a business case and the touch points with leadership, which improve support and engagement and improve project outcomes.
