To Cloud or Not to Cloud

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 | 9:30AM–10:20AM | Room 550
Session Type: Professional Development
This presentation is on Yale's decision to upgrade their IBM FileNet environment by migrating to a cloud hosting solution. We will discuss the reasons for moving to the cloud, vendor selection, affordability, internal obstacles, and steps leading to implementation, as well as our experiences once the solution went live. A brief overview of the project and key lessons learned will familiarize the audience with one approach to implementing newer technology, potential unforeseen challenges, and ways of overcoming challenges to successful implementation. Though the panel's experience was with one product in particular, the lessons learned would apply overall to implementing other newer technologies.
