Helping Central IT's Efforts by Building a Community of Practice to Support Educational Technologies at Large Institutions

The Educational Technology, Training and Outreach (ETTO) team at Boston University's Information Services and Technology department has worked to build community around teaching and learning technologies within its large organization structure. The ETTO has gone to great lengths to find a way to create networking opportunities for dispersed educational technology and media-based university employees interested in finding like-minded colleagues to discuss and collaborate with while garnishing support for a broader educational technology agenda.


Outcomes: Learn how to build teaching and learning communities and improve communication and collaboration * Design active advocacy approaches to building a shared teaching and learning technology vision * Assess the social value of partnerships and collaborations from both a personal and an organizational perspective
