Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
How can smaller institutions strengthen online course quality with limited instructional design resources? At Stonehill College, a cross-functional team met this challenge by developing a practical, homegrown Online Teaching Certification (OTC) program built on open educational resources and collaborative partnerships—with an instructional design team of just one person! The program features just-in-time instructional design support, a ready-to-use online course template that lowers design barriers, a self-paced course introducing online teaching essentials, and an online course design rubric with evaluation tools that empowers faculty to assess and improve their own classes. Participants will leave with adaptable strategies and resources they can immediately apply at their own institutions.
