Session Type:
Breakout Session
Delivery Format:
Presentation/Panel Session
Over the summer, librarians at Trinity College undertook a comprehensive review of new AI features available in our databases to determine their suitability for patron use and prepare for how we would address them during instruction sessions. We evaluated AI tools in JSTOR, EBSCO, Hein, Primo, and ProQuest. In this presentation, we will detail our evaluation process and criteria, share our assessments of the tools reviewed, discuss lessons learned, and outline our plans for incorporating these tools into classroom instruction and appointments. Attendees will have the opportunity to view one of these tools in action and practice evaluating it using our rubric. They will leave with practical suggestions for how to conduct their own AI tool review and achieve a better sense of how these tools may impact the research process.
