Practical Strategies for Building a Library Digital Workplace: A Case Study from Yale

Tuesday, March 10, 2026 | 4:00PM–4:45PM ET | Room 554 AB
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Libraries, like many campus units, are navigating an increasingly complex digital environment. At Yale Library, we launched a Digital Workplace Initiative to make our internal collaboration more consistent, secure, and effective. This session shares a practical roadmap for evaluating and rationalizing tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive across a large and distributed library organization. Learn how we engaged library staff, addressed tool sprawl, aligned with institutional IT, and created accessible guidance to support staff adoption. We'll share examples of process mapping, internal communications, and cultural change strategies that helped build momentum. This case study will be especially relevant for institutions looking to modernize how library staff collaborate and communicate behind the scenes.
