Universities everywhere wrestle with ensuring protection against malware for student-owned (ResNet) computers so that they don't threaten the university. This presentation reviews two approaches to this issue: SUNY Oneonta's Malware Outbreak Protection for ResNet, which uses a Web-based patch and antivirus scan, and Boston College's mandated installation of a managed antivirus client, McAfee ePO, on all student computers.
