Taking Risk Assessment from Project to Process: A Novel Approach

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 | 3:45PM–4:45PM | International H (6th floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Although risk assessment is essential to properly set security strategy for effective protection of sensitive information assets, this type of project can be resource intensive and budget unfriendly, especially given that the results apply to only a single point in time. This session will highlight an approach to risk assessment that's cost-effective, standardized, and simple to deploy and that transforms the project into an ongoing risk management process, with limited additional costs but with all the benefits of ongoing risk analysis feedback. Cornell and Illumant have pioneered this approach and will share lessons learned.
