Research Data Management: Is It Realistic to Think That We Can Do It All?

Wednesday, January 29 | 10:00AM–10:45AM | Palm Ballroom AD
Session Type: Professional Development

The prospect of effectively managing all the research data throughout its life cycle at our institutions can be overwhelming. What is realistic for us to do? How do we frame the conversation at our institutions and decide what is important? How do we prioritize phases of the life of data, secure the data, support analysis, and manage all the other aspects of research data? How are our institutions resolving these issues? And how do we ensure that sufficient budget and resources are allocated? This brief discussion offers an opportunity to explore the research data management topic overall and prefaces a later agenda item, where we will talk through the current framework for considering research data management options.
