In this decade, many colleges and universities will substantially upgrade or replace essential administrative systems. Kvavik and Katz (ECAR, 2002) conservatively estimated that institutions spent $5B on the first round of ERP. In a decade of new economics and new technologies, IT leaders must assess their paths for a new decade and choose if and when to lead.
