Communication, Collaboration, and Transformation: Building Organic Connections Between the Library and IT Divisions at Bowdoin

Many colleges have merged Library and Information Technology divisions, resulting in culture clashes and resentment. Instead, Bowdoin College developed collaboration organically through a four-person library and IT group. Initiatives were developed that increased communication, understanding, and collaboration at the operations and strategic levels to ensure quality services to the community.
