Combining Web-Based Mastery Quizzes with Clickers as a Way to Help Students Learn

One-quarter of Introductory Psychology students were failing class. Adding web-based quizzes reduced this percentage but also negatively affected attendance. Adding a student response system (clickers) increased attendance and academic success. Student and faculty reaction to this redesigned course is almost universally favorable.
