Sharing the Wealth: A University-Wide Information Security Council

Wednesday, March 10 | 9:30AM–10:20AM | Room 554
Session Type: Professional Development
Information security is often consigned to the IT department, even though IT is not the primary user of university data. But technical solutions can only go so far in protecting data. In 2008, the University of Massachusetts Boston created an Information Security Council with broad representation from business and academic units. This session details how the involvement of these units has helped the University develop a more coordinated and consistent approach to information security.
