Transforming Continuity

Wednesday, March 10 | 3:15PM–4:05PM | Room 553
Session Type: Professional Development
Saint Michael's College had no workable business continuity/disaster recovery plans. The college is transforming this vulnerability into a virtualized server environment, with replicated storage split between a campus facility and a co-location site connected by a dedicated 10-gig link. Operations necessary to meet the recovery-time and recovery-point objectives of the program transformed policies, procedures, and the department's commitment to being policy and procedure driven. The complexity of the project forced IT to transform its project management methodology and the usual funding model for campus capital projects.
