The Mobile Art Studio: Nintendo DS as Digital Sketchbook

Using Nintendo DSi XL devices equipped with open-source drawing software that expand the art studio to the larger world, students have an affordable, portable, and easy-to-use digital sketchbook to capture visual ideas inaccessible to desktop or laptop computers, such as architecture, sporting events, shopping malls, and landscapes. Students return to the studio to further develop their ideas by moving the Nintendo sketches into Adobe Photoshop for more complex manipulation, similar to how a traditional pencil sketch is turned into a painting.
