Effective QA Practices for Legacy Integration with an ERP

BU selected SAP ERP for HR/payroll, finance, and procurement. We had to integrate legacy systems with SAP and test adequately for go live with implementation, vendor, business, and BU internal teams working closely. We describe key QA practices for successful go live: central QA repository via HPQC to track test preparation and testing progress; formal templates and workflows for functional spec, test plans, and testing; and innovative wave testing for integrated testing of wide functional areas. Attendees will be able to appreciate the benefits of formal QA tools, templates, and workflows and the importance of leveraging institutional mechanisms to coordinate QA.
