IPv6 Networking and Security: Planning and Deployment

Wednesday, March 14 | 4:40PM–5:30PM | Room 553
Session Type: NC12
Every day the Internet handles more and more IPv6 traffic, much of which is completely transparent to the end user. Unfortunately, much of the traffic is also transparent to campus networking and security staff. IPv6 could fundamentally change current operational practices. Using real-world examples, this session will highlight technology and policy pitfalls that will need to be addressed by campus technology staff at every institution. Additionally, we'll feature several solutions to common security problems related to the implementation of IPv6 networks.
