Open Access at Bucknell

Tuesday, March 13 | 9:15AM–10:05AM | Room 553
Session Type: NC12
In October 2011, after several years of dedicated outreach and education efforts, Bucknell University's full faculty (approximately 325 members) passed an open access policy, closely following the Harvard University model. As part of our efforts in advance of the vote, we both expanded the capabilities of our long-serving Fedora repository and made available an instance of Digital Commons to further support faculty needs. This session will review some of the practical considerations along the way to Bucknell's open access policy as well the follow-on challenges of actual implementation.
