Passive to Active: Turning the Classroom Around

Wednesday, March 13 | 12:30PM–1:20PM | Ballroom D/E
Session Type: NC13

A new studio classroom environment provides the backdrop for the case study of a professor working to incorporate technology and new learning strategies into her class in a pedagogically responsible way. We discuss practical considerations of this, including how to ensure that new strategies are universal in their application, and student responses to the technology and changing course structure. Participants will gain an understanding of the challenges of turning theory into action in terms of innovating with educational technology, and how to improve student outcomes from blending technology with more active pedagogical approaches. Participants are encouraged to share best practices.
