SEM01F-Improving the Transparency and Visibility of Your IT Services through Communication and Marketing Practices (separate registration required)

Monday, March 11 | 9:30AM–5:30PM | Room 550
Session Type: NC13
Does your institution see IT as a utility operating out of sight or as a strategic resource essential to recruitment and retention? Either way, it is critical that your IT department share information about events, projects, services, and other activities with their clients. Higher education IT departments—unlike many corporate environments—must communicate with a broad range of audiences, including faculty, students (prospective, resident, and commuter), staff, parents, and alumni. In this workshop you will learn about the differences between communications and marketing as well as techniques for creating effective messaging and implementing a communications plan.
